Central Avian Research Institute at Izatnagar
  • Undertake basic, applied and adaptive research in all disciplines relating to avian production and post-harvest technology including conservation and maintenance of poultry germ-plasm.
  • Impart specialized training and post-graduate education in Poultry science.
  • Develop, update and standardize package of practices concerning feeding, management, health cover and poultry products technology and transfer of these for use by the poultry farmers and the industry.

Veterinary College, Mannuthy and Pookode The College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences was established in 1955 by the Government of Kerala. in1972. Duck Farm, Niranam The aim of the farm is to preserve different varieties and breeds of chicks, improve the quality of ducks reared for eggs and meat purpose and popularize duck farming. The different breeds of ducks reared in the farm are Desi, White pekkins and Kakki campbell and Vigora Super-M.

Avian Disease Diagnostic Lab, Thiruvalla

 

Disease Investigation and Disease Control are the main objective of this Laboratory, which is functioning under the control of a Deputy Director.

The officers conducted tours to detect diseases. All Government and Private Poultry Farms, Egger Nurseries, Broiler Units have been visited for Disease Investigation and Disease Surveillance.
