Colocasia-Harvest and storage

Colocasia becomes ready for harvest five to six months after planting. The leaves begin to senesce at that time. Other signs of maturity are when the main corms get pushed up to the surface and become clearly visible.

The harvesting is done by digging the corms using a spade. The mother corms and side tubers are separated after harvest. The harvested tubers are then cleaned and marketed.
