High Yielding Variety

Arunima: High yielding varieties of oriental pickling melon developed from RARS Pilicode. Best adapted to north zone of Kerala.  Crop duration 55-65 days. Trailing habit, bright green fruits with creamy spots at tender stage and orange yellow at ripening. Uniform cylindrical shape. Fruit length 33 cm, 40 cm girth and 2.3 kg weight. Yield 27 t/ha.

Mudicode: High yielding varieties of oriental pickling melon developed from College of Horticulture, Vellanikkara. Best adapted to central zone of Kerala.  Crop duration 80 days. Days to first harvest 55-60 days. Long oval fruits which are green coloured at immature stage and attractive golden yellow at ripening. Fruit length 27-35 cm, fruit weight 1.8 -2.5 kg. Yield 30 t/ha.

Saubhagya: Developed by COH, Vellanikkara of KAU. High yielding varieties of oriental pickling melon. Crop duration 70-75 days. Medium sized fruits. Suitable for close planting. Mature fruits golden yellow. Grow well from September to March. Yield 17 t/ha.

Heera: It is variety of cucumber developed from College of Horticulture, Vellanikkara. The variety is having light green fruit. It can be grown both in open and rain shelter conditions. It is a FI hybrid variety.

Poinsette: The variety is recommended for cultivation in Kerala.  Exclusively used for salad purpose.

Poona Khira: The variety is recommended for cultivation in Kerala.  Exclusively used for salad purpose.

Pusa Sheethal: The variety is recommended for cultivation in Kerala.  Exclusively used for salad purpose.

Subhra: It is variety of cucumber developed from College of Horticulture, Vellanikkara. The variety is having greenish white fruit. It can be grown both in open and rain shelter conditions. It is a FI hybrid variety.
