Marigold- Planting activities

Marigold is propagated through seeds. The seeds are raised in nursery and will be ready for transplanting in one month.

Sandy loam soil with pH 5.6 to 6.5 is ideal for cultivation of marigold.

For the main-field, the land should be ploughed well and FYM @ 80 kg/cent should be incorporated to the soil.

Transplant the seedlings at a spacing of 30 cm x 30 cm in case of French marigold and 45 cm x 45 cm in case of African marigold on one side of the ridge and irrigate.

The basal dose of fertilizers is applied at the time of planting.
