Single type cultivars

Culcutta Single: It is a single flowered variety of tuberose recommended for cultivation in Kerala. Flower is pure white and has only a single row of corolla segments.

Mexican Single: It is a single flowered variety. Produces maximum flowers during October-December, which is considered as lean months for tuberose flowers yield. Flower is pure white and has only a single row of corolla segments.

Sringar: It is a single flowered variety released by IIHR, Bangalore. Flower is pure white and has only a single row of corolla segments. The flower bud is attractive with slightly pinkish tinge. Its loose flowers are ideal for making garland while spikes can be used as cut flowers. Yield of loose flowers is about 15,000 kg/ha/yr.

Double type cultivars

Culcutta Double: It is a double flowered variety recommended for cultivation in Kerala. Flowers are white, tinged with pinkish red. Petals are in several whorls.

Pearl: It is a double flowered variety recommended for cultivation in Kerala. Flowers are white, tinged with pinkish red. Petals are in several whorls.

Suvarna Rekha: It is a double flowered variety released by NBRI, Lucknow. The flowers are double and the leaf margin is streaked with golden yellow.

Suvasini: It is a double flowered variety released by IIHR, Bangalore. It is a cross between ‘Single’ and ‘Double’. Flowers are white, tinged with pinkish red. Petals are in several whorls. The number of flowers per spike is more and flower opening is uniform. The spikes are best suited for cut flowers.
