Yield above 60 pods/ tree/year
The nutrient recommendation for Cocoa with yield above 60 pods/ tree is 200:80:280 gram NPK/plant. The quantity of straight fertilizers to get the above dose is worked out.
The fertilizers dose needed is 434 gram urea, 444 gram rock phosphate and 467 gram Muriate of Potash respectively per plant. The fertilizers have to be applied in split doses.
The first split has to be applied in April-May. The urea, rock phosphate, Muriate of Potash needed at this time is 217 gram, 222 gram, 233 gram respectively per plant.
The second dose has to apply in September-October and the dosage is 217 gram urea, 222 gram rock phosphate, 234 gram Muriate of Potash respectively.
Organic manure @ 20 kg/plant is recommended in every year. Lime or dolomite has to be applied in acid soils two weeks ahead of fertilizer application.
