Elephant foot yam- Variety information

Sree Athira: It is a variety released from CTCRI, Trivandrum. First genetically improved variety with very good cooking quality.

Sree Padma: It is a variety released from CTCRI, Trivandrum. It is a selection from indigenous germplasm collection of elephant foot yam from Wayanad district of Kerala. Crop duration 8-9 months. Average yield is 42 T/ha.  Cooked tubers are free from acridity.
