Jasmine-Harvest and storage

Jasmine starts flowering six months after planting. The commercial yields are taken from the third year onwards. The life of a jasmine plantation is between 10-15 years.

For fresh flowers, fully developed, unopened flower buds are hand-picked. The harvesting should be done early in the morning.

The flowers should be handled carefully during harvest and transport. Before long distance transportation it is better to keep flowers in bamboo basket. And the basket should be covered with moist muslin cloth.
