Rice Fertilizer information Onattukkara region

The nutrient recommendation for Rice grown in Onattukkara region is 60:30:30 kg NPK/ha. The quantity of straight fertilizers to get the above dose is worked out for a cent and acre.

The fertilizers dose needed is 521 gram urea, 666 gram rock phosphate and 200 gram Muriate of Potash respectively for a cent. The corresponding quantity for an acre is 52.1 kg urea, 66.6 kg rock phosphate and 20.0 kg Muriate of Potash. The fertilizers have to be applied in split doses.

The first split has to be applied at the time of planting. The urea, rock phosphate, Muriate of Potash needed at this time is 260 gram, 666 gram, 100 gram respectively for a cent.

The corresponding quantity for an acre is 26.0 kg urea, 66.6 kg rock phosphate and 10.0 kg Muriate of Potash respectively.

The second dose has to apply in active tillering stage and the dosage is 130 gram urea for a cent. And for an acre the quantity is 13.0 kg urea.

The third dose has to be applied at panicle initiation stage. The fertilizer dose is 130 gram urea and 100 gram Muriate of Potash respectively for a cent. And for an acre the quantity is 13.0 kg urea and 10.0 kg Muriate of Potash.

In case of farmers using Factomphos, the basal fertilizer needed for an acre will be Factomphos 66.6 kg and Muriate of Potash 10 kg. In such case only 12.84 kg of urea is needed for the second dose and 12.84 kg urea for the third dose for an acre. The quantity of Muriate of Potash for the third dose remains the same (10 kg/ acre).

Lime or dolomite has to be applied in acid soils two weeks ahead of fertilizer application. Organic manure @ 20 kg/cent is recommended at planting time.
