Guava- Variety information
Allahabad Safeda: It is the most important variety of guava used for table and processing purposes. The tree is medium to tall in size, upright growth habit, heavy bearer, dense foliage and has a tendency to produce long shoots. Crown is broad and compact, often dome-shaped and rarely loose. Fruits are of medium in size, round shape with smooth skin and white flesh. The fruits are relatively soft with less seeds. Its keeping quality is good.
Sardar (Lucknow-49): The variety is also known as Sardar. The plants are vigorous in growth. Its fruits are large, roundish ovate in shape, skin prim-rose-yellow and white pulp, very sweet and tasty. The TSS and vitamin ‘C’ contents are high.
Red Fleshed: Tree attains 3-5m height. The branches are spreading. The fruits are roundish oval, which has yellowish skin with pink colour flesh.
Apple Coloured: Fruits are medium in size and pink in colour. Fruits are sweet in taste with good keeping quality.
