Pipes of one-metre length and 10-inch diameter are used for pipe composting. The pipe may be kept vertically with bottom part of the pipe, about 1 foot, under the ground. Either PVC or cement pipe can be used. Dump any bio degradable waste, into this and keep a lid above.

For a small family, one such pipe would be enough to dump waste for two months. When it is full, use a second pipe. By the time it is full, the first would have turned into manure.

Apply neem cake powder periodically to check growth of grubs and also to control smell.
