Tobacco-Inter cultivation
The first weeding is recommended 15 days after transplanting. Thereafter, three weedings are to be done at fortnightly intervals. Keep the field free of weeds.
Remove the suckers as and when produced. In the case of chewing tobacco, the number of leaves to be maintained should be 8-15.
Flowers will inhibit the growth of young leaves and will compete for sunlight. Therefore, removing them is important for obtaining the broadest tobacco leaves possible.
Irrigate as and when necessary to maintain the soil moisture.
